Is Loki a god of misfortune now instead of god of mischief?

Even when Loki was the villain, fans absolutely adored how Tom Hiddleston brought the character to life. When Loki turned over a new leaf and became one of the good guys, he became an ultimate fan favorite. However, it looks like fans have noticed something a bit off about him.

A fan from Reddit has pointed out that Loki hasn’t really won a fight or had a successful physical confrontation in the MCU since Thor: The Dark World, which was a whole decade ago.

From being easily outsmarted by Thor and manhandled by Doctor Strange, to being defeated by Valkyrie and ultimately meeting his end at the hands of Thanos, Loki’s track record hasn’t been great.

Fans are wondering, will this change in the upcoming Loki season 2, or are we going to see more of the slapstick comedy Loki?

It’s interesting to see how Loki’s power dynamics have shifted over the years. In the early days, he could go toe-to-toe with Thor, trick Odin, and wield significant power.

However, fans feel that he has been heavily depowered, and some are questioning whether this is leading to a more hapless, cartoon-y, but arguably funnier and more 'relatable' version of him.

Fans are hoping for a redemption arc for Loki, where he regains some of his lost powers and showcases his magical prowess, which has been somewhat lacking in the MCU.

In the comics, Loki is one of the most powerful magic users, so it would be exciting to see this aspect of his character explored more in the upcoming season. We hope Loki will have a chance to shine and display his true potential in season 2.

Some insightful fans believe that Loki’s power is hamstrung by his insecurities. Growing up in Asgardian society, magic users weren’t seen as true warriors like Thor, which could have affected Loki’s self-perception and development of his abilities.

The TVA stripped him of his family, culture, and expectations, challenging him to find his own worth. Meeting Sylvie and other versions of himself in the Void has given him a new perspective on his own strength.

Some fans, however, keep up hope that this journey of self-discovery will lead to a stronger and more confident Loki in the future.

Which version of Loki do you prefer: the powerful and cunning or the more comedic and relatable one?
