Will we ever find out who's going to play Reed Richards?

Adam Driver was rumored to be the top choice for the role of Mr. Fantastic in the upcoming Marvel film, Fantastic Four. However, it seems like Driver might not be donning the superhero suit after all.

According to the report by Jeff Sneider on John Rocha’s podcast, Driver was indeed offered the role of Mr. Fantastic, but he turned it down.

He reportedly couldn't connect with the character. The script, it seems, didn't resonate with him, leading to his decision to pass on the role.

Previously, Jeff Sneider reported that Driver “may have priced himself out.”

The Fantastic Four reboot has been a topic of speculation among fans for quite some time. The film is expected to kick off phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with a release date set for May 2, 2025.

The news of Driver's rejection of the role came as a surprise to many, especially considering his successful stint in the Star Wars franchise. However, it's not all doom and gloom. There's a glimmer of hope that Driver might reconsider his decision.

It is also possible that Marvel will re-offer him the role, with a new script, currently being written by Josh Friedman.

The delay in the new script is largely due to the ongoing writer's strike, which has affected many major projects. The strike has led to a halt in production for many franchises, including Marvel.

Meanwhile, the rumor mill continues to churn out potential replacements for Driver. Names like Matt Smith and Josh Hartnett have been thrown into the mix, but nothing is confirmed yet.

The discussion on Reddit reflects a mixed bag of reactions from fans. Some believe that Driver's rejection might be for the best, as they couldn't envision him in the role. Many fans simply don’t see him in this role and there are better options out there.

Others are curious about who will eventually play Reed Richards, the leader of the Fantastic Four. Many fans believe that John Krasinski, who portrayed a variant of Reed Richard in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, proved that he is the right choice.

Who is better for the role of Reed Richards?
