'Love Island' 2025: A Shocking Win, A Bitter Goodbye, and My Take

Why Toni & Cach’s victory left fans questioning everything.
In my opinion, the Love Island 2025 finale was one of the most frustrating yet addictive endings we've seen in years. I watched it live on August 4th at 9 pm BST, fully expecting Yasmin and Jamie to take the crown — they had real chemistry, warmth, and the kind of slow-burn romance that feels earned.
But no. The £50,000 prize went to Toni and Cach, a couple who, to me, felt more like a production storyline than a genuine connection.
The biggest twist wasn’t just who won — it was how. This year’s dumped islanders had the power to vote out a couple before the final. And just like that, Meg and Dejon were gone, despite being one of the strongest pairs emotionally. It felt harsh, almost tactical, like producers handed the jury a target.
Mallorca may have been sunny, but the finale mood was anything but. Fans on social media echoed what I felt: shock, suspicion, and disappointment. I still love the show, but if Love Island keeps steering results like this, it risks losing what made it so addictive in the first place — us believing in the love.
