The ongoing third season of Mike White’s hit anthology series The White Lotus has been full of surprises even without yet reaching its highly anticipated finale, having introduced several exciting cameo roles fans would definitely want to see more on the screen.
The latest instalment’s season 5 saw Sam Rockwell’s Frank entering the scene with a shocking several-minutes long dialogue, while the penultimate seventh episode starred Scott Glenn as Jim Hollinger, the Thai luxurious resort’s owner and influential billionaire.
With a career span of more than five decades, Glenn is a well-known Hollywood figure and for many is famous for one of the leading roles in HBO’s supernatural drama The Leftovers, where he starred opposite his The White Lotus co-star Carrie Coon.

The actor has been long known for taking on versatile roles and at least once expanded his acting list to a Western role in a 1985 hit film that also stars Yellowstone ’s actor Kevin Costner. It was, in fact, Costner’s first ever western project.
The movie sees Glenn as rambling man Emmett gathering a group of misfit cowboys to try their luck in a crime-ridden town called Silverado.
Having gone through a lot on their way, Emmett and his men finally reach their destination, but only to find out that the control over the town has already been given to greedy rancher Ethan McKendrick and corrupt sheriff Cobb; to make it even worse, Emmett’s cowboys have some unresolved issues with those who rule Silverado now.

With the actor’s most prominent and more recent works including Jack Crawford’s Oscar-winning The Silence of the Lambs, HBO’s The Leftovers and MCU ’s Daredevil, it might be not that hard to imagine why the Western movie has remained in the shadows for decades now.
However, despite not being able to boast of huge box office success, Silverado remains one of those highly acclaimed pieces of the genre that doesn’t come inferior to Western movies and shows of the past couple of years.
On Rotten Tomatoes, Silverado keeps good scores of 78% and 79% from critics and audiences respectively, marking a successful Wild West-coded collaboration between Glenn and Costner.
