Marry Me Chicken: The Viral Dish That’s Taking Over the Internet (and Relationships!)
A 30-minute dish that your boyfriend won’t be able to hesitate.
It’s well-known that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, so why not demonstrate your cooking skills that might even lead to a long-awaited proposal? In fact, some even came up with the recipe for a spicy but tender and creamy chicken that will conquer any man’s heart.
Despite its important mission, the meal itself is very easy to cook and won’t take more than 30 minutes of your time.
Ingredients: 3 cloves of garlic, 120 ml of 33% cream, 0.5 tsp of chili pepper, 1 tbsp of olive oil, parsley to taste, 0.5 tsp of salt, 0.5 tsp of ground black pepper, 50 g of Parmesan cheese, 175 ml of chicken broth, 1 tsp of oregano, 900 g of chicken thighs, 75 g of sun-dried tomatoes.
Rinse and pat the chicken dry; there’s no need to remove the skin. Place the pieces on a cutting board. Generously season the meat with salt and pepper on both sides.
Heat a deep skillet with olive oil. Add the chicken pieces and sear on each side until golden brown. Fry the pieces in small batches so the chicken browns evenly rather than stewing.
Once all the meat has been seared, remove half the fat from the pan. In the remaining oil, fry the pressed garlic, dried oregano, and red pepper flakes. Cook everything over medium heat for 1 minute until a distinctive aroma emerges.
Pour the chicken broth and heavy cream into the spices. Chop the sun-dried tomatoes into small pieces. Grate the Parmesan cheese on a fine grater. Add the cheese and tomatoes to the broth and cream. Stir all the ingredients and bring the sauce to a boil.
Place the seared chicken thighs, skin-side up, into the pan with the sauce and spices, then remove from the heat.
Place the pan in the oven (225°C) and bake until done (17–20 minutes). When the chicken is done, clear juices will run out when pierced with a knife. Chop the parsley before serving. Serve the chicken with a side of rice, adding the sauce with tomato pieces and sprinkling with fresh herbs.
