As Marvel's Phase 6 is ending with Avengers: Secret Wars, the studio seems to want to prolongate its finale by splitting the finale in two… But it's not a welcome decision.

Marvel Universe's complete reboot into Phase 7 is a long and tedious process. At the very least, there are many storylines the studio needs to wrap up before moving on from Phase 6…

But it seems that instead of doing that, Marvel wants to tackle the franchise that already has its perfect ending and mess with it even more.

According to the most recent rumors, Marvel Studios is considering splitting its final Phase 6 entry — Avengers: Secret Wars — into two parts.

While this scoop is yet to be confirmed, fans agree that it looks very possible… And very unwelcome, at that.

Admittedly, there are too many more important issues than prolonging Avengers.

While Kevin Feige, the Marvel Studios boss, already claimed that the ambition of the studio is to make Secret Wars bigger than even Endgame, there's a big chance that this decision is unnecessary: the finale was supposed to consist of two parts anyways, with The Kang Dynasty being the first and Secret Wars being the second.

Some of the fans on Twitter pointed out that further splitting the finale may be redundant.

"Whatever they do, they can't create another Endgame! Avengers had their perfect finale, they should title it just Secret Wars," wrote ishmam_muhammad.

Still, there are many fans who support the studio's potential plan and claim that splitting Secret Wars into two movies is necessary due to the size of the script: they argue that SW is a very important event that will make tons of money for Marvel.

"Adapting a story like Secret Wars (whether the 80s or Hickman's version) should definitely not be crammed into one movie, so a 2-parter would be ideal," claims ComicsRTW.

Amid all the talks about how the already-wrapped-up Avengers franchise is supposedly getting more and more "final" entries by the minute, wouldn't it be better to allocate more attention and resources to the long-anticipated franchises that fans have been asking for so long?

Like, for example, the Scarlet Witch standalone. Come on, after Endgame, three more Avengers movies feel really redundant.
