Marvel’s 2nd Biggest Flop With 16% RT Score Will Arrive on Netflix This Month

The movie starred Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the leading role, though eventually became one of Marvel’s biggest disasters in recent years.
Last Sunday marked the end of the awards season run for last year’s most successful movies, and things are back to normal with some news about streaming releases for flicks no one dared to consider for prestigious awards after all.
Having debuted on digital streaming back in January, Marvel’s recent superhero flop Kraven the Hunter has just received another major update as the movie is now set to move to Netflix.
The wait won’t be long though, and those who wanted to check the movie out, despite its overall negative reactions, will be able to do so in less than a couple of weeks.
Kraven the Hunter Sets Netflix Release Date in March
As Netflix revealed several days ago, the Aaron Taylor-Johnson- led movie will land on its platform on March 13.
Also starring Christopher Abbott and Russell Crowe, Kraven the Hunter follows Marvel’s eponymous villain and traces his path towards becoming one of the most iconic antagonists in the MCU.
The storyline revolves primarily around Kraven’s complicated relationships with his ruthless gangster father, eventually forcing him to make vengeance his priority and become one of the most feared hunters in the world.
Kraven the Hunter Was Almost the Biggest Marvel Flop in 2024
Despite the commercial success of last year’s Venom: The Last Dance, Marvel has been having tough times trying to bring not so famous characters to the screens in the past couple of years.
2024 was probably the studio’s worst nightmare experienced alive as it first started with Madame Web ’s failed theatrical release, bringing Marvel nothing more but financial losses after the movie grossed $100 million with the same initial budget.
The unsuccessful streak was then followed by Kraven the Hunter that did even worse in the box office, garnering around $62 million against the estimated budget of $130 million. The movie was received quite well by the audiences, securing a score of 73% on Rotten Tomatoes, but failed to do the same with critics who ultimately gave the movie 16% of positive reviews on the same platform.
However, with Kraven the Hunter’s approaching release on Netflix, it might be fair to say that the film is likely to get a second life and enter the streamer’s global top just a couple of days after its digital release.
