As if this show needed some more suffering.

As the fandom is trying to cope with the long wait for Good Omens season 2, series author Neil Gaiman... doesn't help at all.

In yet another Q&A session on his Tumblr, Gaiman has provided a little detail on season 1 that gives room for some angst potential in season 2. When asked by a fan whether Crowley knew how fellow angels treated Aziraphale, or if he only realized that in Heaven, Gaiman spilled the tea.

"I think he only found out when he was in Heaven," the author responded.

This response immediately had fans estimating the angst potential for season 2 — or, if showrunners are reluctant to explore it, for some fan fiction.

Basically, when Crowley was disguised as Aziraphale in Heaven (and vice versa), he learned that angels are not as benevolent and noble as they claim to be, especially when it comes to their own peers. Now that Crowley knows, he might feel just the same amount of rage towards angels (and particularly Gabriel) as fans do.

Fans love to hate Gabriel for his "punchable attitude" and "smackable face", and when season 2 comes out, there is a good chance creators might address Heaven's treatment of Aziraphale once again.

Some six months away from premiering, Good Omens season 2 is still largely a mystery for fans, with little being known about the plot. According to Gaiman, the season trailer is not coming any time soon, either, as the season itself is not going to be released until the summer.

"If we release a trailer now we'll have at least 6 months of people baffled that it's not out yet," Gaiman said of the promotional materials timing.

Good Omens was greenlit for season 2 in June 2021, with the filming wrapping up in March 2022. The exact premiere date is yet to be scheduled, as the series is currently in post-production.
