Netflix #1 Movie in the US Is This Steamy Thriller With Severance Star

The Apple TV hit show’s actress takes on an eerily similar role in the movie too.
Netflix ’s new cringey comedy Kinda Pregnant with Amy Schumer isn’t the streaming’s biggest hit anymore (at least in the US) as the movie has already spent a couple of days dethroned from the American top by Netflix’s new arrival.
Starring Dylan Sprouse, the flick landed on the platform just several days ago and also features a brand new screen appearance from one of Severance ’s lead actresses.
After quickly reaching the streaming’s top chart, the movie might get some attention from Apple TV+ hit show’s fans also due to its actress’ role, which is weirdly similar to the one she has in Severance.
Aftermath Is Now a New Netflix Hit
The Sprouse-led action movie is currently holding the number one position in Netflix’s US top 10, having surpassed Kinda Pregnant, which is now following and sitting on the second place, according to FlixPatrol.
Released on streaming on February 10, Aftermath is an action-packed story revolving around war veteran Eric who, alongside his teenage sister, is trapped on Tobin Memorial Bridge in Boston after a bomb explodes.
When a group of ex-military revolutionaries takes everyone hostage, Eric, suffering from PTSD, must find a way to deal with the issue and get his sister and himself out of it alive.
Severance’s Ms Casey Is Also in Aftermath
Netflix’s new potential hit also stars Dichen Lachman who in Severance portrays Wellness Counsellor Ms Casey, and the actress’ both prominent roles have just too much in common for the sci-fi show’s fans to overlook.
Naturally, in Aftermath Lachman plays ‘Doc’, while in Severance she isn’t really a doctor, but, well, some kind of, since she’s the one to treat Lumon Industries’ severed employees until she gets reassigned to the test floor.
Additionally, both of Lachman’s characters end up trapped, whether it’s a physical torture for Aftermath’s Doc or rather a mental abuse for Severance’s Ms Casey.
Aftermath isn't just a US release and can be watched across the world on Netflix, while Severance remains Apple TV+’s feature series.
