Paramount+’s new drama series with Tom Hardy as a “fixer” might have just seen the tables turn for its upfront crime family led by Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren. Here’s how some opinions of the show’s fans have shifted ahead of its finale in June.

Tom Hardy ’s crime drama show Mobland has seen the actor’s character stepping into the ongoing war between two crime families in London, though it seems like the show’s audiences aren’t really on the same side as Hardy’s Harry Da Souza.

The series, partially directed by Guy Ritchie, sees Da Souza being hired as a “fixer” by the Harrigan family, currently confronted by the Stevensons, another influential criminal family in town.

As Mobland’s first season progresses, it does unveil something about its characters that wasn’t quite visible since the beginning, but now many fans have decided who they’ll be rooting for in the finale — and it might not be the Harrigans after all.

Mobland Fans Are No Longer Team Harrigan After Episode 6

Though many agreed it could have easily been the writers’ intention to trick the audiences, fans still aren’t really over the shocking revelations about what Pierce Brosnan ’s Harrigan patriarch Conrad is like.

“The Harrigans have been going [downhill] in my list very quickly (with the exception of Kevin and Harry) but Conrad this episode is just plain weird we already knew he has some strange tendencies, but that scene with Gina was just downright creepy. It’s obviously already outright war but making it seem like it was his plan all along to blow up vron, just shows he’s an idiot with an ego trying to safe face with the family just as much as maeve and Eddie and the only reason they’ve stayed afloat so long is the people around them”, Redditor Klutzy_Intention_374 complained in a show-related thread.

“At this point, I’m really rooting for Richie Stevenson”, Captain-Sammich agreed, confirming that the character downfall has caused some major shifts in the Harrigans’ backup team.

On top of that, some even sympathised with Richie who, compared to his biggest rival, didn’t even turn out to be that cruel after all.

“I know they’re mobsters, but dang, I feel bad for Ritchie. Who can blame him atp for anything he does”, Plastic-Support-5741 put in.

”I came here to say the same thing, Conrad is an insufferable prick, I am now on the side of Richie”, Sea-College-9621 concluded.

Helen Mirren’s Maeve Also Falls Victim to the Harrigan Curse

Like Conrad, Helen Mirren’s Harrigan matriarch Maeve has been getting on some fans’ nerves for long enough, which culminated in the latest episode.

“Nothing she does makes any sense, she has a fragile little ego and causes nothing but problems, coddles eddies dumbass and his dumb choices and just wants to blow everything good the Harrigans have for no reason other than some weird delusion of a loss of strength and power, makes you wonder why Conrad kept here around so long”, Klutzy_Intention_374 ranted once again.

“Totally agree, she makes the show unfun to watch. Maybe not redeeming qualities, but justifications for such terrible decisions. Or else she’s just a sadistic psychopath, which begs the question how she played any roll in the Harrigans rise. I think it’s just poor writing”, Sabretoothed-Smile reflected on the matter

Some others, however, still found a reason to sympathise with one of the show’s biggest villains. “Pretty sure that is the point and her acting is perfect for it. I despise her but understand”, Merr77 added.

When Is Mobland’s Next Episode Being Released?

The show’s season 1 episode 7 will arrive on Paramount+ on May 11.
