Pamela Anderson & Liam Neeson's 4 Favorite Comedies You Can Watch After 'The Naked Gun'

As it turns out, these two have excellent taste in comedy, and here are their picks.
August 1 is an important day for comedy fans – it's the release date of the legacy sequel The Naked Gun, starring Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson.
The lead actors recently shared their own favorite comedies, so you can get in the right mood before watching the movie or continue the comedy marathon after going to the cinema.
1. 'The Pink Panther', 1963
IMDb Score: 7.0/10
Those who don't watch old movies may know The Pink Panther from the 2006 and 2009 movies starring Steve Martin. However, the franchise began long before Martin even started performing as a comedian.
Liam Neeson is a fan of Blake Edwards' films starring Peter Sellers. Initially, the director didn't intend to make more than one movie about the crime intrigue surrounding the unique pink diamond.
However, after the first Pink Panther became a hit, Edwards made another film and, after a long break, six more comedies about the diamond.
2. '9 to 5', 1980
IMDb Score: 6.9/10
Three coworkers find themselves in the same unenviable situation, and a sense of female solidarity awakens between Judy, Doralee, and Violet. Their boss is a sexist, hypocritical, egotistical man with no sense of decency.
He humiliates Judy, harasses Doralee, and denies Violet a promised promotion. The women decide to fake his death.
Though it may seem like a simple comedy, it is actually one of the key feminist films. It raises issues of the glass ceiling, workplace harassment, and the wage gap.
3. 'The Jerk', 1979
IMDb Score: 7.1/10
Steve Martin has always excelled at playing silly characters, so it's no surprise his full-fledged film debut was in Carl Reiner's The Jerk.
The main character, Navin, decides to go to St. Louis for a better life. However, being completely unprepared for independent living, he encounters many obstacles before achieving success.
Martin wrote the movie's script himself, so he created his character with love. He played the role so well that he deserves the highest praise, even almost half a century later.
4. 'Mrs. Doubtfire', 1993
IMDb Score: 7.1/10
Robin Williams' incredible talent is on full display in Mrs. Doubtfire, where he proves once again that he is the king of family comedies. He has the ability to make us feel a whole range of emotions in just two hours.
In Chris Columbus's film, Williams plays a desperate divorced father who dresses in women's clothes to get a job as a housekeeper for his ex-wife and spend more time with his children.
Williams received his fourth Golden Globe Award for this role, and it's easy to see why – Mrs. Doubtfire is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable characters in his filmography.
