Peacemaker might not get a third season, but his story will definitely continue.

Season 2 of James Gunn's Peacemaker concluded, so let's review the events of the finale and answer the questions it left unanswered.

Specifically, will there be a Season 3 of Peacemaker and will we see Chris Smith in Man of Tomorrow?

The Main Events of the 'Peacemaker' Second Season Finale

The final episode of the second season begins with a flashback of Chris and Emilia enjoying a peaceful time together at a burger joint and on a rock cruise. In the present, Peacemaker, who is imprisoned, refuses to meet with his friends because he believes he is a curse to those around him.

Meanwhile, Rick Flag Sr.'s team uses Lex Luthor's recordings to explore the multiverse through quantum gates.

Their search leads to the deaths of several agents, but they eventually find a suitable planet called Salvation designed for the exile of metahumans.

Meanwhile, Leota convinces Vigilante to use the confiscated funds to free Chris. Alarmed by Flag's plans, Sasha teams up with Emilia and Leota. Together, they find Chris and convince him that he isn't bringing misfortune upon his friends.

Together, they create a private agency to help people. However, the season ends on a dark note when Flag's men kidnap Peacemaker under the guise of a voluntary experiment.

In reality, Peacemaker is being tricked into being sent to the planet Salvation – Flag's revenge for the death of his son and first test subject. The portal closes, leaving Chris alone on an unknown planet amid the roar of giant creatures.

What Was Shown in the Post-Credits Scene of Episode 8 of Season 2?

The final episode of Peacemaker's second season has two post-credits scenes that serve no significant narrative purpose.

The first scene discusses additional security measures for the prison planet Salvation and is a direct continuation of a previously shown meeting with Rick Flag.

The second scene revisits the moment when Economos tries to distract Flag's men with his lame jokes. Ultimately, neither scene adds anything new to the main story and is essentially pointless.

What Is Salvation and How Does It Relate to 'Man of Tomorrow'?

The planet Salvation, discovered by A.R.G.U.S. in the multiverse, was intended to be a place of exile for metahumans and dangerous criminals. In the DC Comics universe, it served as a prison and training ground for Darkseid's minions.

In the series, its discovery is part of Lex Luthor's plan to eliminate Superman, whom Luthor manipulated through Rick Flag. The planet will likely play a pivotal role in the upcoming Man of Tomorrow.

Will There Be a Season 3 of 'Peacemaker'?

The second season of Peacemaker ended on a tense cliffhanger, but there are plans for further developments in the Man of Tomorrow movie.

James Gunn noted that the second season's finale could be the last for the entire project, as there has been no official renewal for a third season.

Nevertheless, the future of the team and Peacemaker's fate are guaranteed to be further explored within the DC Cinematic Universe, primarily in upcoming movies.
