Should we petition for a reboot?

Even though The Big Bang Theory 's heartwarming finale was a great ending for all of the show's characters and a nice way to wrap up the story, many fans still wish the show could have continued. And one of the main reasons for that is to see how their favorite characters would reflect on the latest installments in pop culture.

Of course, the show just ended in 2019, but you'd be surprised at how many things Sheldon, Leonard, Howard, and Raj missed out on when it comes to TV shows, games, comic books, and overall internet discourse. Here are 8 things fans of the show would love to see its characters respond to in 2024.

The Barbenheimer Phenomenon

We know that the group of scientists wouldn't miss a chance to see Christopher Nolan 's Oppenheimer movie, but what we don't know for sure is how the group would react to a collision with Greta Gerwig's Barbie.

Would they show up at theaters dressed to support the movie? Would they see both on opening day? Who would be Team Barbie and Team Oppenheimer after seeing both? The possibilities are endless, and we are devastated that we will never know for sure.

The Game of Thrones Disappointment

Given how much the group loved Game of Thrones, you can only imagine how badly they would have taken the lackluster ending. There's no way any of them would have supported Bran the Broken as king, and there's definitely no way they would have gotten over Arya effortlessly murdering the Night King.

You can only imagine how many jokes we, as viewers, missed, just as you can only imagine how much merch was burned in the aftermath.

The House of the Dragon Euphoria

However, the moment the gang saw House of the Dragon, they would have been turned into Targaryen stans.

Maybe it's for the best that we don't hear the writers' jokes about the incest aspect of the show, because there's more than enough of that online, but the dragon aspect would have stolen everyone's hearts. It would also have been inevitable that at least one of the group would have worn a white wig at some point. Our bet is on Howard!

The AI ChatBots Confusion

It is no secret that AI is taking over the Internet right now, and there is a chance that some of the friends would be more happy about it than others. Using AI for research and scientific papers would have been a big problem. However, it would be even worse to see a character fall victim to AI addiction.

With so many websites now capable of mimicking a real dialog, the most desperate of the group, aka Raj, would probably find himself trapped in a long-distance relationship with a made-up character.

The Elon Musk Downfall

In 2015, Elon Musk had already appeared on the show and was portrayed as a universally loved, smart, and hilarious guy you'd want to be friends with. In 2024, however, the guys, especially Howard, might have had a change of heart about him.

It's hard to imagine The Big Bang Theory not mentioning his online activities at all, but there's also no chance that any of the characters would stand behind the businessman's words or actions. It would have been a very funny comeback.

The Bridgerton Escape

Just as many people were drawn to Bridgerton during the pandemic, The Big Bang Theory gang would be exactly the same. Knowing Raj's romantic nature and Penny's love of all things pretty and fairy-tale, they would have been the show's biggest fans, while everyone around them would probably have had to endure it.

And we can already see Sheldon pointing out that no modern song could possibly have been played at a Regency ball.

The Last Of Us Debate

Just like many people on the internet, the boys would’ve likely watched the long-awaited adaptation of the iconic game and would’ve been left conflicted about some of the choices. While it is likely that Raj and Howard would cry over the heartbreaking story of Bill and Frank (cue in the gay jokes), Sheldon won’t be too impressed.

However, that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be affected at all, as he’ll likely have to skip mushrooms for a couple of months.

The Taylor Swift Hysteria

While no one in the group other than Penny strikes us as a Swiftie, we're sure Penny will do whatever it takes to get on The Eras Tour. And while it might take some convincing, it would be fun to see her slowly spread her Swiftie agenda to Bernadette and Amy, and then the whole group end up on the show together.

The biggest problem for the show would have been the music rights, but luckily our imaginations can work for free.
