Although the plot of the last episode is still absurd, it should be of interest to those fans who were especially fond of the first seasons.

Riverdale premiered in 2017, and in that time it has managed to release six full seasons, with the seventh and final season yet to release its last episode. The final episode of the series will be released on August 23, and it is already known what exactly will happen there.

According to the official synopsis, 86-year-old Betty turns to a special friend who helps her relive her last day of senior school with friends whose memories have returned. Yes, a little crazy, but very much in the spirit of Riverdale.

At the end of season six, the main antagonist, Percival, pointed a comet right at Riverdale and friends had to save their town at all costs. They combined all their superpowers into Cheryl, who destroyed the comet.

The mission succeeded, the town was saved, but then, instead of returning to our days, the main characters found themselves in 1950s.

Apparently, after the entire plot of the seventh season unfolded in a rather unusual atmosphere for Riverdale, the last episode will be a kind of return to the roots, where all the main characters will appear as fans remember them from the first seasons.

In addition, fans have complained that the main characters have become too old – now they are well over 20, although the characters in the original source are 16.

Apparently, the writers and creators of the series have heard the fans’ dissatisfaction and have indeed decided to return to the roots, albeit only in the final episode.

Riverdale became an undeniable hit right out of the gate, and the first two seasons confidently set the bar for one of the best mystery series of recent years, but then something went wrong.

Many fans agree that if the first two seasons have an extremely mysterious but interesting plot that you want to follow, then everything that happens next seems illogical and chaotic.

It seems like the writers are just trying to cram an impossible amount of storylines into one season, which prevents them from being able to develop any of them.

All of this confusion alienated a large number of viewers, and unfortunately, Riverdale went from being a show that millions watched with admiration to an easily forgettable, absurd show that no one takes seriously.
