This season is the perfect season to snatch some Emmys.

RuPaul's Drag Race is about fierce queens, drama and talent that the queens bring with themselves everywhere they go.

Last year's Season 16 was nominated for an Emmy with an impressive 10 categories, yet somehow walked away empty-handed. For us, fans, this came as shocking news, especially considering how Season 16 served some of the most entertaining moments in recent memory.

But, darling, hold onto your seat because Season 17 is here to snatch those trophies back. We're sure that the current season is gonna be the redemption one, and the Emmy voters better be ready.

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 17 Is Emmy-Worthy Entertainment

If you thought previous seasons brought the heat, Season 17 is here to set the werkroom ablaze. We're barely halfway through, and already the season has had moments that feel destined for the Drag Race hall of fame.

Take the Badonka Dunk Tank Twist – what could have been another gimmick (looking at you, Season 14's chocolate bars) has instead become a genuine source of entertainment and an interesting addition to the gameplay.

Of course, no reality show twist comes without its skeptics.

Redittor igor_gregorovitch pointed out:

"I still believe it’s rigged. Nothing on a high production tv show like drag race happens by chance. Everything is calculated. It doesn’t actually matter which lever a queen pulls."

Staged or not, it all certainly added an extra level of excitement to an already great season. Pure entertainment.

This season's cast also proves that even early outs can make a memorable impression. Take Joella, for instance. Though her run was brief, she left an indelible mark on the show with her unshakeable confidence (or as some might say, delusion, which, regardless, we life for). We'd even be so bold as to say that already this could get them an Emmy.

"Of course she's delusional. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Like, 90% of the memorable moments so far in the 3 episodes have been from her being completely disconnected with reality and the queens being completely shocked by it,” Redditor Diredr noted.

And let's talk about the shade this season, because it is absolutely ON. Queens aren't afraid to embrace conflict. And it's delicious.

As Expert_Ad_3277 wrote:

"It feels less light hearted and jovial in comparison to past seasons but honestly? We've kind of needed a less kumbaya season overall, im glad for the increase in shadiness. It feels more realistic to what drag queens are."

The recent tension between Onya Nurve and Lexi Love over the alleged outfit "ruining" incident proves that authentic drama still exists in reality TV.

This cast is very diverse, with some queens taking it way too seriously, and then with some, who don't take it seriously at all (looking at you, Kori King).

Yet, they all understand the balance between entertainment and authenticity, and this is why Season 17 of RuPaul's Drag Race has all the ingredients for award-worthy television. Whether or not the Emmy gods smile upon this season, the cast has already won our hearts with their perfect blend of drama, talent, and unapologetic realness.
