Say Goodbye to Denis Villeneuve: Jurassic World Rebirth Director May Take Helm of Dune 4

The current director plans to leave the franchise after the third film.
Denis Villeneuve said that he intends to complete the journey across the desert planet Arrakis with Dune 3. This will be an adaptation of the second novel, Dune Messiah. The director and screenwriter promised a full resolution of the story of Paul Atreides, played by Timothée Chalamet.
Denis Villeneuve does not want to adapt the following books, as he considers them too extraordinary. If Warner Bros. continues to expand the franchise, he will hand over the reins to a new director.
Dune 4 May Be Directed by Gareth Edwards
Insider Daniel Richtman reported on his Patreon that the studio is eyeing Gareth Edwards. He is said to want to do at least one more Dune movie.
Edwards has a solid track record of directing sci-fi blockbusters. He directed The Creator, Rogue One and Godzilla. His Jurassic World Rebirth is set for release on July 2, 2025.
It should be noted that negotiations with Edwards were preliminary, and it is difficult to say who will ultimately take the director's chair for the fourth Dune.
Dune 3 Is Currently in Development Under the Direction of Denis Villeneuve
Warner Bros. is currently working on a film adaptation of Dune Messiah, which continues the story of Paul Atreides 12 years after the events of the original film.
Villeneuve has already written the script and is preparing to begin filming the blockbuster in the near future.

What Is the Children of Dune Book About?
The book is dedicated to the fate of Paul's two children – twins Leto Atreides II and Ghanima Atreides. As the twins grow up, they are cared for by their grandmother, Lady Jessica, and Paul's sister, Alia.
The Bene Gesserit Order and representatives of the deposed Corrino dynasty continue to weave new conspiracies to kill children, and a blind preacher appears in Arrakeen, the capital of Arrakis, denouncing the ruling regime.
Leto can see the future even better than his father. But he does not like the images of the future: he sees billions of different versions in which humanity perishes, and only one future in which he manages to survive.
Leto calls it the Golden Path, but in order to carry out his plans, the Emperor must remain in power for thousands of years. By entering into symbiosis with the Sandtrout, the larval form of the great sandworms of Arrakis, Leto gained immortality but lost his humanity.
