Sophie Turner & Kit Harington New Reunion Felt “Really Weird”

The Game of Thrones’ reunion wasn’t as heartwarming as both actors expected.
It might be exciting for Game of Thrones’ fans to see Winterfell siblings (or rather cousins) reunite on the screen again, but for Sophie Turner and Kit Harington the whole thing was a bit confusing.
The actors, who starred as Sansa Stark and Jon Snow in HBO’s epic medieval-ish drama, got back together on set for a new gothic horror set to be released sometime next year.
Turner and Harington’s new movie will mark their first collaboration in years since Game of Thrones wrapped in 2019, so no wonder the future film is getting all the hype possible while still being in post-production.
However, the roles changed quite radically for both actors, and Turner thinks fans should be ready for a pretty weird plot twist in there.
Sophie Turner and Kit Harington Play Lovers in ‘The Dreadful’
Set in the 15th century during the Wars of the Roses, The Dreadful stars Sophie Turner as Anne who, alongside her mother-in-law, navigate through hardships as they seek ways to survive on the outskirts of society.
However, their life changes completely when a man from their past comes back to help.
This man is none other than Kit Harington’s Jago who, according to Sophie Turner, will eventually become Anne's lover.
“I did a movie last year which I'm really excited about with my old but very good friend Kit Harington, who played my brother on Game of Thrones. We're doing a gothic horror… but we play lovers. Sorry, guys. It's really weird for all of us”, the actress revealed in an interview with Vogue, a part of which was shared on Instagram.
Despite Awkwardness, Sophie Turner Got Kit Harington the Part in ‘The Dreadful’ Anyway
Even though the actress has repeatedly stated that she just wouldn’t dare portray Harington’s lover on screen because of what their characters’ relationships were like in Game of Thrones, it was Turner who convinced The Dreadful’s producers to consider her former co-star for the role.
One of the movie’s execs herself, Turner actually saw an opportunity to bring back that Game of Thrones medieval vibe back, and she couldn’t see herself enjoying it with any other but Harington by her side.
“They were trying to find someone for that role, and I was like, 'You can’t not have Kit’. It’s set around the time of the Wars of the Roses, so we’ll probably be floating about in robes on clifftops again”, the actress told Sunday Times back in 2024.
