South Korean Gripping Mystery Drama Is Close to Dominating Netflix’s Global Top

The movie has become a massive hit just a week after being released on the streamer’s platform.
American movies and shows aside, South Korean compelling dramas have always been a solid part of Netflix ’s collection, finding a new life in the streamer’s global charts every so often.
With a handful of South Korea-produced movies and series already being there for everyone to check out, Netflix will be releasing several more already in a couple of weeks; those new arrivals, however, will yet have to compete with a fellow Korean drama for a higher position on the streamer’s lists of the most watched projects.
Having arrived on the platform on March 21, the new mystery thriller has been long ranked among some of the highly anticipated releases of the month and is currently proving itself in Netflix’s global top.
Revelations Is Among Netflix’s Biggest Hits Right Now
The movie, which boasts of Alfonso Cuarón’s participation as a producer, has apparently been a true long-awaited arrival as it’s currently sitting on the second position in Netflix’s global top chart, surpassed only by the Millie Bobby Brown-led sci-fi flick The Electric State, according to FlixPatrol.
Based on the South Korean webtoon of the same name, Revelations stars Ryu Jun-yeol and Shin Hyun-been as a pastor and a detective, each driven and then confronted by their own beliefs when a person-missing case emerges.
While the priest remains reassured that the culprit should be punished in order to keep the world order, the detective assigned to the case struggles to find a right answer as she’s constantly haunted by the visions of her dead sister.
The mystery thriller movie, helmed by Train to Busan’s Yeon Sang-ho, has so far received praise from critics, currently holding a score of 73% based on 15 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.
3 More K-Dramas Are Coming to Netflix in April
With March releases already wrapped up, the streamer is about to drop several more South Korean compelling shows, giving its own collection an exciting update already in a couple of weeks.
That said, the next month will kick it off with a crime thriller Karma, following some ill-fated occurrences that will intertwine several strangers’ lives already on April 4, according to Netflix’s release schedule.
Karma will be followed by a new medical drama Resident Playbook, set to be released on April 12 and revolving around professional and personal issues of several doctors at the Jongno Branch of Yulie Medical Center.
Lastly, fans of the romcom genre might find something compelling in Heavenly Ever After, a new fantasy romance show which is also scheduled for a release on Netflix on April 19.
