The writer/producer said that he doesn't believe in "superhero fatigue," explaining why his movie ended up being a success.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse turned out to be a massive hit, with some fans even claiming that it surpassed the original in every way, garnering praise from critics and audiences alike, and will undoubtedly kill it at the box office.

This seems a bit unexpected, as in recent years more and more audiences have been claiming that they are losing interest in such movies, calling it "superhero fatigue."

In a recent interview with The Rolling Stone, one of the producers and writers of the animated film, Christopher Miller, stated that he doesn't really believe in this problem.

He said that the "fatigue" can be explained by the fact that most superhero movies follow the same formula, which is "the same story structure and the same style and the same tone and the same vibe," which inevitably feels overused and boring to most viewers.

While fans believe that his explanation is partially true, they don't fully agree with the creator.

They say that it is more of a "franchise fatigue," as each new MCU/DCU release is almost obligated to relate and tie into a variety of other films, which begins to feel exhausting over the years.

As only the second film in the franchise, Across the Spider-Verse feels incredibly fresh in this regard, and also allows itself to be creative without having to follow the strict rules of a cinematic universe.

Indeed, the fans' notes seem to be more accurate, as even the Marvel and DC movies can be quite different in tone and structure, take Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

However, it can get exhausting to see the same faces over and over again over the years.

Nevertheless, the fact that superheroes themselves are still in demand is shown by TV shows such as The Boys and Invincible (apart from the Spider-Verse movies), which were highly praised and continue to be released to this day, still feeling quite unique and fresh.
