We know that the new installment of Squid Game will inevitably bring a lot of deaths with it, but there's one in particular we are not looking towards: Jang Geum-ja. And while we don't know whether or not she'll make it, we have a devastating theory.

But before we go any further, first we need you to remind you who Geum-ja is.
Jang Geum-ja personality: empathetic, determined, kind.
Her motivation: she only joined the games to win enough cash to bail her son Yong-sik out of gambling debt (her son is a player too, by the way).
But what fate typically awaits kind and honest characters in the brutal world of Squid Game? Nothing good, unfortunately.
Our theory: Geum-ja may suffer the most traumatic death of all (precisely because her son is competing alongside her). The emotional devastation could unfold in two equally heartbreaking scenarios: either she witnesses her son's death before her own or in a cruel circumstance, she dies by her son's hand during one of the game's merciless challenges.
