Brace yourself for a whole other Han Solo, the one with an Italian accent.

Han Solo has to be one of the most popular characters in the Star Wars franchise.

A charismatic, brave hero with a troubled background and adorable co-pilot, he left a huge impression on millions of Star Wars fans over the years.

Of course, this could've been done without Harrison Ford 's brilliant acting work.

But did you know that Harrison Ford was not the first choice for the part? If George Lucas went with his first pick, the Star Wars universe would never look the same.

The iconic movie The Godfather, which boosted Al Pacino's acting career to a whole different level, premiered in 1972 and quickly gained well-deserved success around the world.

Al Pacino became one of the most desired leads for any movie and any director that was around, as, you can imagine, his name would bring instant attention to any film.

"It was at that time in my career where I was offered everything. I was in 'The Godfather.' They didn't care if I was right or wrong for the role if I could act or not act," Pacino said in an interview with MTV.

Of course, no one doubts Al Pacino's acting talent, but it is hard to imagine him as the Han Solo we all know today.

What's even more interesting, the actor turned down the role himself, without even trying it out or auditioning for it.

As he admits, the opportunity to take part in what turned out to be the greatest franchise in the world was missed just because he didn't understand the story.

Perhaps, it all worked out the best for both Al Pacino himself and Harrison Ford, who got to take the part and made his career breakthrough with it.

If you're feeling nostalgic and care for a Star Wars rewatch, you can stream all the movies on Disney Plus.
