Stephen King’s Hit Horror With 85% RT Score Is on Netflix Now

You might want to give it another rewatch before the author’s next exciting project arrives.
Netflix users are probably having a hard time saying goodbye to some flicks that won’t be on the streaming platform in March, but luckily Netflix tends to compensate for the losses.
A hit horror movie based on one of Stephen King ’s bestselling novels has just been added to the platform, and the timing can’t be better for many fans to rewatch it until a new and story-related show hits the screens.
Released back in 2017, the movie is the book’s second adaptation that stars Bill Skarsgård in one of his most prominent roles and remains the highest-grossing flick inspired by Stephen King’s novels.
You Can Now Watch It on Netflix
The hit horror, based on King’s 1986 novel of the same name and directed by Andy Muscietti, has recently joined a vast collection of movies on Netflix worldwide, so it might take a little time for the flick to climb the streaming’s top charts.
Starring Bill Skarsgård as fear-inducing Pennywise, It follows a group of friends who have to find a way to escape the most certain death from the hands of the ancient monstrous clown that comes up from underground every 27 years to find new victims among innocent children.
Upon its release, the movie received universal acclaim, securing scores of 85% and 84% from critics and viewers respectively on Rotten Tomatoes; It also became the highest-grossing film among all of Stephen King’s adaptations, garnering $704 million worldwide with the budget of around $40 million.
A New Show About Pennywise Is Already in the Works
Though the character remains one of the most gruesome villains brought to the screens straight from Stephen King’s books, Bill Skarsgård’s performance uplifted Pennywise’s cinematic image to a completely new level, so it’s not really hard to imagine many of the movie’s fans craving more details about the evil clown’s past.
However, this isn’t just wishful thinking, and an entire show about Pennywise is now set to hit the digital platforms with its first season sometime in 2026.
Titled It: Welcome to Derry, the horror series will go back in time, following the events of the years of 1962, 1935 and 1908 in each new season respectively, marking Pennywise’s returns and diving deeper into the character’s backstory.
