After all, didn't he "die" a couple of times before?

It seems that even the actor who portrayed Dr. Martin "Papa" Brenner in 'Stranger Things ', Matthew Modine, does not believe that his character is dead for good. And, given that Brenner had survived an actual Demogorgon attack, he might have a point.

"I wouldn't want him to be dead. Three things are curious to me: How did he survive the Demogorgon [in season 1]? How did he survive One? And when Eleven tries to use her power against Dr. Brenner after blowing three guards in the air, he unflinchingly thwarts her and says, 'You didn't think it was going to be that easy, did you?' She couldn't get it to work on him. Is there something more to Brenner than meets the eye?" Modine pondered in an interview with Vulture.

Even though the 'Stranger Things' creators have assured the audience that Papa is now dead "for real", it does not seem to stop people from speculating. Many fans are already pulling the "Somehow, Palpatine returned" joke, referring to the Duffer brothers' reluctance to kill off characters that are there for more than one season.

Some people even suspect that Dr. Brenner might have some superpowers of his own based on how miraculously he's been escaping death… so far.

"Stranger Things could show us flashbacks of Brenner using them in Season 5. It really could complement his character Arc by sacrificing himself for Eleven," one fan wrote on Twitter.

Still, the official comments insist that Brenner is dead, even though the actor seems to clearly be on board with returning back from the dead once again – particularly because he looks forward to working with Millie Bobby Brown, according to Vulture.
