Superwholock has risen from the ashes of our shattered nervous systems more than once.

With Sherlock on a long (but not eternal) hiatus, should we get our hopes up for Superwho?

Probably not (yet), but we can tell you which Supernatural and Doctor Who characters fans think are a lot alike (almost like reincarnations of each other). Ready?

Lucifer & the Master

Let's start with the obvious. Both are iconic villains with a killer dark sense of humor and a passion for killing people or at least making them suffer. Imagine if these two met… Someone would definitely get incarcerated!

They also have a personal connection to the main characters. Sam is Lucifer's true vessel, while the Doctor and the Master share a long and messy history that goes back centuries.

The two baddies are also pretty obsessed with their respective protagonists. Manic much?

Castiel & Rory Williams

The only person who can relate to Rory's struggle with not knowing what is going on with his girlfriend and the Doctor again is Cass who spends most of his time unaware of what Dean and Sam are doing.

We are not saying that the Ponds are basically Destiel's counterparts, but you get the idea!

Besides, both Cass and Rory are often the butts of the protagonist's jokes – Dean and the Doctor, respectively. These two characters are also similarly wary of the unknown and are often the only sensible ones in the trio.

Sam Winchester & Clara Oswald

Sam is mainly known for his acute tendency to die a lot on Supernatural, so it makes perfect sense that people compare him to Clara, who has also kicked the bucket a few times on Doctor Who.

Their personalities are also similar in that they are both the quieter but quick-witted halves of their partners.

In the end, Sam and Clara get separated from Dean and the Doctor for the rest of their lives, before being reunited with them basically in the afterlife. Both characters give off Goody Two-Shoes vibes and even look a bit related.

Well, maybe not height-wise…

Superwho is still only in the works of our collective mind, but that does not mean we should lose hope! After all, even the wildest dreams sometimes come true…
