It’s still hard to believe that someone was treated way worse than Penny, yet here he is.

The Big Bang Theory may have been over for a while now, but its universe doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon as the show’s prequel Young Sheldon has just passed the torch to its own spinoff set to be released later this year.

With all the success that Young Sheldon had and the upcoming spinoff titled Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage will potentially have with the longtime fans of the original series, The Big Bang Theory franchise may have no trouble planning more prequels and sequels to come in the future, especially since some of its original characters were completely snubbed and treated unfairly, something that left their fans cherishing a hope that yet another spinoff might finally make it up to them.

While years after The Big Bang Theory’s finale everyone is still reassured that Penny did deserve better and could be rewarded for all of her suffering with a separate show revolving around her, the legendary sitcom has another mistreated character in store, and he is actually a better challenger for a chance to make things right.

TBBT Outcast Who Always Deserved Better

Compared to Penny whose personal wishes and goals went almost completely unnoticed by the show’s creators, Stuart Bloom was punched even more frequently.

The character’s disheartening storyline didn’t make it to the series yet when Stuart’s actor Kevin Sussman got cast as Sheldon and Leonard’s friend Howard Wolowitz, but eventually couldn’t accept the role due to his schedule conflict caused by a contract with another show.

However, Sussman wasn’t left behind and landed a minor, yet still recurring role as Stuart, a quirky comic book owner that is desperate to become closer with Sheldon and his group of friends.

Initially a rare character to appear on the screen, Stuart gradually started showing up much more frequently, eventually making an unofficial entrance into the lead characters’ gang, though it still didn’t save him from being a constant victim of Sheldon and co’s mockeries subtly pointing out that Stuart actually never belonged to the group.

The Big Bang Theory’s final season sees the character develop romantic feelings for his comic book employee Denise which she reciprocates. The rest of their story remains uncertain given that the show was still focused on what big changes were happening in the lead characters’ life, thus once again leaving Stuart and his successes behind.

Considering that the original show’s finale left Stuart at one of the most pivotal moments of his life, the franchise developing another spinoff about Stuart and Denise could finally make it up to the underrated character that has always been treated like an outcast.

Additionally, Stuart’s future with Denise recounted in another potential series doesn’t really require the rest of the cast’s return, which appears to be a huge chance for Stuart and Kevin Sussman as well to become the center of the whole plot line like the actor and his character always deserved.
