‘That’s Mufasa’: Aaron Pierre Starred in This 96%-Rated Netflix Action Thriller Last Year and You Missed It

When something goes viral on the Internet, there’s no way to stop it. And the consequences of anything going viral are unpredictable — from having one’s career ruined and canceled to becoming a big star.
Well, when Aaron Pierre’s video “that’s Mufasa” took over all the social media, it created an army of fans. The video shows the actor in the so-called spirit tunnel before he appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show to promote his new movie, Mufasa: The Lion King, where he voices Simba's father.
The video, and overall his appearance in Disney ’s new live action movie skyrocketed his popularity, even though he was already rather popular in the industry. For example, he starred in a high-rated Netflix action thriller just last year, but the movie ended up being an overlooked gem.
The movie is called Rebel Ridge, and it revolves around an ex-Marine named Terry Richmond who is on his way to bail his cousin out of jail. However, he finds himself backed against the wall by a high-handed and corrupt police chief.
The role of Terry was played by Pierre and of course this was the number one reason why the fans loved the movie.
“The film is carried hard by Aaron Pierre, and his performance is honestly enough to justify watching it. I've never seen him in anything before but after this, I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye on any future projects. He has movie star levels of presence and charisma and most importantly, he is built like a f*cking tank and completely sells the badass ex-Marine character who can kick anyone's as* around him,” Redditor keepfighting90 said.
What's also good about the movie is that despite the word action in the genre, it's a rather intelligent slow burn, where Pierre's character is not a hero, but a guy with his principles, willing to do whatever it takes to achieve his goal.
