Though he was definitely the one that deserved it.

Summary:

  • The fan-favorite show The Big Bang Theory ended its run back in 2019 with a relatively happy ending for everyone in there, but one particular character was brutally overlooked by creators.
  • The show’s finale clearly demonstrates that all the main characters, except one, are celebrating big achievements in life.
  • According to creator Chuck Lorre, the finale where big things happen to absolutely everyone wasn’t natural, so this character’s story remained open to new adventures.

The Big Bang Theory, a comedy sitcom about a group of scientist friends that deal with their love life and career achievements throughout the whole series, came to its end back in 2019 with a seemingly good turn of events for every main character.

And while most of them indeed showed up on the peak of their life in all aspects, one particular character’s storyline still seems to have been unfinished.

In the show’s finale Sheldon and Amy are a happy couple that receives the Nobel Prize in Physics after having worked together on super asymmetry, Leonard and Penny are expecting their first child and Howard also happily lives with Bernadette and their two children.

The only one that can’t really boast of anything significant is Rajesh Koothrappalli, in the series portrayed by Kunal Nayyar.

Why Was TBBT So Unfair Towards Raj?

Since The Big Bang Theory was gone for good fans have been wondering why the creators were so unfair towards the character that was definitely the unluckiest of all in love life — even at the Nobel ceremony that Raj attends with his friends he receives yet another refusal to go on a date from Sara Michelle Gellar’s character.

As it turns out, creator Chuck Lorre and showrunners Steve Molaro and Steve Holland didn’t feel the necessity to conclude Raj’s story with something as grand as the other characters got.

As Lorre clarified later on, big things happening to every single character in the show at once would look very unrealistic and even forced, so Raj eventually became the one whose story still remains open.

Such revelations may indeed appease many fans and give them hope that the beloved character wasn’t just abandoned — unlike his friends’ stories that ended, his may be still going on.
