What is actually happening to the most powerful supe?

The long-awaited fourth season of The Boys is full of action as always. Billy Butcher's anti-hero group is hard at work under the wing of the CIA – the new target of The Boys is Victoria Neuman, who is gaining electoral weight.

Butcher is removed from his position as director of operations, and he does not have long to live – a brain tumor caused by the abuse of Temp V is progressing rapidly. Homelander, who has been given absolute power over the Seven, is having a midlife crisis and is looking for someone to at least argue with, so he replenishes the team of supes with Sister Sage – the smartest person on Earth.

Homelander's Arc in Season 4 Shows Us He is Aging

And Homelander is getting old, which came as a big surprise to many viewers. But what if this process is hiding something even worse for the most powerful supe?

At the beginning of the first episode, Homelander found a gray hair. The unpleasant discovery proved to him that he can age – almost like normal people, only slower. This means that Homelander is mortal and has weaknesses. Sister Sage told Homelander directly that he will begin to show physical weaknesses more and more often.

Many viewers believed that Homelander would lose his powers after the battle with Soldier Boy in Season 3, and that his Season 4 arc would focus on him trying to hide that fact by taking Temp V. However, the writers went down a different path, but according to one theory, that path is not so different.

Homelander May Not Only Age, But Also Lose His Powers

Some fans believe that Homelander is not only aging, but also losing his powers.

“Take a second look at that scene (when A-Train finds the V)… so many empty slots there. Not to mention seconds ago, when we saw a lot of grey hair. Also Sage mentioned that he's dying his hair way more often,” Reddit user gillmanblacklagooner wrote.

When A-Train goes to Homelander's apartment to get Temp V for Hughie's father, you can see that almost half of the doses are missing from the supply. Who could the only person with access to them have given them to? The most logical answer to this question is that Homelander is taking Temp V himself.

It is quite possible that The Boys do not even need the virus they kidnapped Sameer to develop, and once information about Homelander's power is known, they will be able to deal with him without it.
