'The House of Guinness': Netflix’s Next Big Drama From the 'Peaky Blinders' Creator — Set in Dublin Instead of Birmingham

The man behind Tommy Shelby is back with another explosive story.
Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders, is taking a step away from smoky Birmingham streets — and I was intrigued to learn he’s moving the story to 19th-century Dublin with The House of Guinness.
The drama begins right after the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness, the man who turned Guinness beer into an Irish legend. His last will sparks conflict among his four children — not just over inheritance, but power and survival.
A Cast Worth Raising a Glass To
Netflix lined up an impressive cast. Anthony Boyle (Masters of the Air) plays Arthur, Louis Partridge (Enola Holmes) is Edward, Emily Fairn (The Responder) takes on Anne, and Fionn O’Shea (Normal People) appears as Ben.
They’re joined by James Norton, Jack Gleeson, Dervla Kirwan, Niamh McCormack, and more — with Game of Thrones alum Michael McElhatton making an appearance.
Knight Still in Command
Just like with Peaky Blinders, Knight isn’t just the writer — he’s the showrunner too. While working on The House of Guinness, he’s also juggling the long-awaited Peaky Blinders film and even developing a James Bond project for Amazon MGM.
Direction is split between Tom Shankland and Mounia Akl.
When Can You Watch?
Netflix has set the release date for The House of Gucci: September 25th, 2021. Until then, we have time to revisit the Peaky Blinder series and prepare for another dose of the Knight's signature blend of family, power and betrayal.
