The Official 'Star Wars' Canon Will Be Rewritten Again Because of a Female Heroine — and It Will Only Do One Good Thing

At least one question about the sequel trilogy will be removed from the agenda.
Star Wars is hot again: before fans had time to digest the fact that Kylo Ren was replaced in the comics by the bloodthirsty Sith girl Tava Ren, Lucasfilm is preparing a new reworking of the canon — this time with the participation of Luke Skywalker's wife.
The studio plans to return Mara Jade to the official universe — one of the most beloved heroines by fans, who was long ago written off to the "Legends".
After Disney bought the franchise in 2012, a huge layer of books and comics were declared non-canon. But some of the "old" heroes were still brought back: Grand Admiral Thrawn and Darth Revan are already back in the canon. Now it will be the turn of Mara Jade, who after Palpatine's death met Luke, married him and became a Jedi Master.
There are no details yet about her return, but fans are hoping to see Mara at least in a supporting role. Rumors suggest she could appear in The Mandalorian and Grogu or the new season of Ahsoka. If her story is rewritten, it would explain why Luke is so darkly hidden at the start of the sequel trilogy.
In the original books, Mara Jade was a key figure in the Thrawn trilogy and even died tragically at the hands of Jacen, Han Solo's son. Now Lucasfilm can go further and make a solo project about Mara before Luke.
On paper, the potential for such an undertaking is limitless: fans have been waiting for her return for more than a decade, which means that the new female star in the galaxy will have enough chances to rewrite the canon once again. Another question is whether fans of the franchise are tired of this.
