The character who has been missing for quite some time may finally return.

Sometimes The Walking Dead characters disappear and later come back. However, there is one character who was last seen in the seventh season, and has been a topic of discussion among fans for years. We are talking about Heath.

Heath, played by Corey Hawkins, was a recurring character in The Walking Dead. He was a member of the Alexandria Safe-Zone and a supply runner. Despite his cynical attitude, he was loyal to his fellow survivors. His sudden disappearance in the seventh season left fans puzzled and sparked numerous theories.

Corey Hawkins, the actor who brought Heath to life, didn't leave the show due to any dramatic plot twist or character arc. Instead, it was the lure of new opportunities that led him to step away from The Walking Dead.

Hawkins took on the lead role in a 24 spinoff, 24: Legacy, on FOX. Although the series didn't make it to a second season, Hawkins' career didn't slow down. He went on to star in the Oscar-winning Spike Lee hit BlacKkKlansman, the biopic Georgetown alongside Christoph Waltz and Vanessa Redgrave.

So we know why the actor left the show. But is there an explanation of what happened to his character? According to Angela Kang, the showrunner, Heath was taken by Jadis and the Scavengers off-screen and traded to the CRM for supplies.

This revelation has led to speculation that Heath might have been labeled as either an "A," turning him into a walker test subject, or a "B," allowing him to live under harsh conditions.

With the upcoming spinoff The Ones Who Live, there's renewed hope that we might finally get some answers.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is the latest addition to the expanding universe of The Walking Dead. This spinoff continues the story of Rick and Michonne (Rick & Michonne was the original title of the show), who were separated when Rick was whisked away in a helicopter in the ninth season.

The series is expected to revolve around their journey to find each other and reunite as a family. While the official release date is yet to be announced, the show has completed filming and could air as early as 2024.
