For an adaptation as good as The Sandman, any tweaks may feel painful for fans. Now, according to what we’ve already seen from season 2, it seems that Delirium lacks an important feature from the graphic novel.

The Sandman is soon returning to take us back into the Dreaming with its second and final season. The first trailers and stills from the show have already generated a lot of buzz in the fandom.

However, amid the excitement are some concerns. Season two is going to introduce several new characters, some of whom are part of the Endless family. Among them are Destiny, Destruction, and Delirium. In fact, one concern centers around Delirium specifically, who is portrayed in the show by Esmé Creed-Miles.

According to a new post in The Sandman’s subreddit, the first looks from the show give the impression that Delirium is missing one of her most notable features: her ever-changing hairstyle.

In the graphic novel, Delirium was seen to be changing her hair as she spoke with Dream. However, the show seems to have abandoned that quirk — at least based on what we have already seen.

“I actually hate how grey and desaturated everything is in all the previews released so far. Sandman, the comics, his realms, everything is so colorfull and full of life. And we get the Snyder look,” Redditor YControhl said.

Another complaint about Delirium is that she looks too focused and present, while in the comics she was dissociated and quirky.

However, it’s fair to say that it’s too early to judge: when it comes to her hairstyle, there is a chance it will be different in the final cut. With the use of CGI, Delirium’s hair can still change from shot to shot — it’s way less tricky than making the actress change wigs in each scene.

“I really hope they go a bit crazy with Delirium's looks. She has the potential to be one of the most visually striking characters seen on screen in a long time,” added Redditor Triskan.

When Will ‘The Sandman’ Season 2 Release?

The second and final season of The Sandman is divided into two volumes. The first one premieres on July 3, and the second follows on July 24 on Netflix.
