Finally, Sandman fans will get a proper sendoff for the series' beloved dark characters. Season 2 promises to be packed with events. Stay tuned for the latest details.

Sandman season 2 finally has a release day, and it’s July 3. Netflix has decided to release the new season in two parts, so after the first six episodes hit the platform in the beginning of July, 5 more are coming on July 24.

Along with the premiere date announcement, Netflix also released the first teaser trailer for the final season of The Sandman.

Though not long, the trailer obviously hints at a big reunion of Dream and his family of Endless siblings. With some known faces there are also several new ones, and the story will probably make sure we find out more about them over the course of the season.

What Will Sandman Season 2 Be About?

Season 1 of Neil Gaiman 's graphic novel series ended with the long-awaited victory of the dark and enigmatic Morpheus. On his journey to regain the tokens of his power lost during his imprisonment, the Master of Dreaming emerged stronger than ever.

But Gwendoline Christie 's Lucifer isn’t ready to let things lie. Her sights are set on Morpheus’s downfall, though she may have to wait her turn, Desire and Despair, his fellow Endless, seem eager to strike first. However, a possible team-up between them and Lucifer would make complete sense as well.

The show's creator Allan Heinberg confirmed that the story will focus on Dream's ability to own his own arrogance and ignorance, but also his fillings, even though he seems to think he has none.

Of course, there's still a lot to explore, like Rose's fate, which remains unclear now. What will happen to her now that she has no heart? Season 2 will have to answer that question as well.
