‘The Studio’ Has a Deleted Scene With Zoë Kravitz and Kathryn Hahn We All Want to See

The last couple of episodes in The Studio’s season 1 were pure chaos partially thanks to Zoë Kravitz’s cameo, though it seems like we would have got even more than that. Here’s what the actress had to say about her cut scene with the show’s co-star Kathryn Hahn.
The Studio’s leading cast now surely are comedy legends, but the penultimate episode of the show’s first and extremely successful season would have been all the more iconic than it actually was.
Titled “CinemaCon”, the episode 9 follows Seth Rogen’s Matt Remick and his Continental Studios colleagues to Las Vegas where they are about to present the studio’s movie slate for theatre runners to get interested in. Things go completely wrong at Dave Franco’s pre-party crashed by Matt’s psychedelic journey with Zoë Kravitz who accidentally ate way too much chocolate with mushrooms.
The messy episode sets up for an even messier second part of the first season’s finale, but now many wish the chaos had got even bigger with Kravitz and Kathryn Hahn’s epic-sounding scene.
Zoë Kravitz and Kathryn Hahn’s Fight Scene Was Cut From ‘The Studio’ Season 1
It does seem like initially things were even more complicated than they actually got to be in the “CinemaCon” episode, as the actress confirmed the fictionalised version of herself in the show had to be tranquillised specifically by Kathryn Hahn’s marketing head Maya Mason.
“There was a whole part where [Matt and Sal] come back in and I’ve built a fort and I’m holding French fries, making crazy animal noises and rolling around. I think I break a vase and it shatters everywhere, and then Kathryn Hahn tackles me to the ground, slaps me in the face and sings ‘Kumbaya’ to me — which I’m so sad didn’t make it. Being slapped in the face by her was the honor of a lifetime”, Kravitz said in an interview with Variety ahead of the episode’s premiere last week.
Zoë Kravitz and Dave Franco Delivered One of the Funniest Scenes in ‘The Studio’
Even though pretty much everything and everyone in The Studio goes wild at some point, Kravitz was seen trying to keep calm as she realised she had consumed enough shrooms to get higher than ever.
That, according to the actress, was meant to be some kind of real-life representation of what effect those mushrooms actually have.
“I sent Seth [Rogen] and Evan [Goldberg] a lot of crazy text messages. It had been a while since I had taken mushrooms, so I was just remembering that and really trying to make it as accurate as possible. Mushrooms are so specific. And then, the rest of this is about letting go and being free. And the whole point, actually, is that you are not in control when you’re tripping”, the actress revealed.
On top of that, Dave Franco’s wild and absolutely hilarious acting also came to rescue, with Kravitz choosing to balance the level of chaos in the party room.
“I thought, ‘The more serious and the more chill I am, the funnier it will be,’ so I was just using that to know if that’s where he’s going to be, I’m going to be the opposite of that. It was so fun. I mean, the hardest thing, honestly, is to not laugh and to not break. You don’t want to be that guy”, she stated.
