There were some pretty shocking surprises and snubs during the Emmys’ announcement just hours ago, and some thought The White Lotus’ season 3 might be missing a couple of nods even with an impressive number of 24 nominations.
While Walton Goggins, Jason Isaacs, Sam Rockwell (yay!), Carrie Coon, Parker Posey, Natasha Rothwell and Aimee Lou Wood all got their respective nominations, it was Patrick Schwarzenegger whose performance as Saxon was completely ignored.
Despite the show becoming the actor’s breakthrough and a perfect moment to launch a successful career, Schwarzenegger’s Emmy snub might be an indication of something bigger coming his way.

Even though it might be fair to say that Schwarzenegger’s Saxon was one of the best-developed characters whose role the actor nailed, an Emmy nomination isn’t always the best outcome.
“That's OK. He got something much bigger than an Emmy. He broke through and folks want to see what he does next now. (I had no idea who he was before White Lotus)”, Redditor CaymanGone suggested in a thread while discussing the news.
“That sucks, but he’s got a long career ahead of him. Plenty of chances to be recognized in the future”, captainklaus agreed.
“He was close, but let’s be honest—that category is (and was always going to be) stacked, especially with how good S2 of Severance was. And that’s on top of competition from other WL cast members”, Appropriate_Gap_3658 reflected on the matter.

More recognition might just be ahead of Schwarzenegger in the future, but life as The Terminator’s son also taught him to accept disappointments with dignity.
Upon the official announcement of Emmy nominees, the actor took to his Instagram account, reposting HBO’s celebratory publication in his stories and capturing it with a short phrase “So awesome”, accompanied by two water lily emojis.
Aside from Schwarzenegger, Michelle Monaghan, Sam Nivola and Leslie Bibb were also left out of the competition.

Alongside numerous acting nods for the leading cast the show also nabbed nominations for best writing and directing for Mike White, as well as for the best drama series.
