The White Lotus S3 Most Pleasing Character Might Be The Most Dangerous One Yet

Written and directed by Mike White, HBO’s feverish black comedy drama The White Lotus quickly gained universal acclaim after its launch back in 2021, but the show’s phenomenal success isn’t just about its, well, feverish plot.

Every season comprises a new set of characters, with every single one of them playing their key role in the ongoing drama that will somehow result in yet another big tragedy, and in many cases they don’t reveal their real personality right until the climax is just too high.

Despite The White Lotus’ season 3 definitely lacking Jennifer Coolidge’s Tanya and her charisma, there’s another new character whose storyline might soon go completely bonkers, even though it might not be the case for now.

Despite His Looks, Lochlan Is the Most Mysterious Figure in The White Lotus’ Season 3

The new instalment’s first episode sees the arrival of new guests at the Thai luxurious resort, and among them is the Ratliff family which, The White Lotus’ fans know for sure, will unleash something pretty dark very soon.

At first, Sam Nivola’s Lochlan Ratliff appears to be the only down-to-earth family member you can deal with, compared to his work-obsessed father Timothy, self-obsessed mother Victoria and sex-obsessed brother Saxon. In this case, Lochlan might also be joined by his sister Piper who finds comfort in talks with her little brother while other members of the family do nothing but test her patience.

However, Lochlan’s affected serenity is quick to cause the audiences’ mistrust towards him as soon as it’s clear that his relationships with Piper and Saxon are pretty weird: Lochlan doesn’t shy away from explicitly asking his sister about her sex life and seems to be just fine watching Saxon naked, even though the latter is visibly uncomfortable with this.

The White Lotus Might Keep Lochlan’s Motives a Secret Till the Very End

While the Ratliff family’s youngest member does seem like a pretty reserved teenager with high morals by day, it becomes clear that his inner desires for more intimate relationships with his siblings start prevailing once the night comes.

This might be the character’s genuine wish or rather a planned tricky game that will eventually put one of his family members under fire.

The White Lotus doesn’t give any clue about Lochlan’s motives and probably won’t intend to do so, leaving the whole intrigue as a sweet treat for the final episode — after all, that’s what the series has been known for all this time.

The third season’s next episode is now scheduled to air on March 2.
