So, was Hagrid raising humans this entire time? Wait, okay, let us start from the beginning.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets came out 20 years ago in November (feel old yet?). However, it seems that it took us two decades to actually look into the potentially dark details about some of the characters.

And not just any character: we're talking Hagrid, the loveliest keeper of magical beasts and the Golden Trio's best friend among the teachers. According to a new Reddit theory, this very Hagrid might have been... raising humans as werewolves.

In fact, werewolves are surrounded with mystery in the Harry Potter universe. With Lupin and Greyback, we know that werewolves may be a perfectly normal and functioning part of the wizarding society — after all, Lupin was even greenlit as a Hogwarts teacher.

"However, in books 1 and 2 every time Rowling mentions werewolves it's pretty clear she wasn't thinking of them the same way I have described, but rather as another magical beast, like an achromantula or a unicorn. In book 1, Filch tells Malfoy there are werewolves living in the Forbidden Forest. Pretty weird, considering they are regular humans 29/30 days of the month. And what is worse, in book 2, Tom Riddle tells Harry that Hagrid used to raise werewolf pups under his bed, which if you take into account werewolves are human being," Redditor martincheckmate noted.

What appears to be a plot hole written actually makes Hagrid a shady and dark character — clearly not someone we know and love from the books and the movies. After all, raising actual humans and keeping them as werewolves in the Forbidden Forest is way too creepy.

Fans Call on Warner Bros' David Zaslav to "Leave Harry Potter Alone"

But some fans came up with an explanation taken from J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World website — even though many people consider it to be a hastily made-up story to cover up an unintentional plot hole. According to this details that was not highlighted in the Harry Potter books, the offspring of two werewolves who mated in animal form during full moon are full wolves who boast a near-human intelligence.

With that taken into account, Hagrid might have been raising a highly intelligent werewolf pup and not a little human capable of turning into a beast during full moon. And honestly? This explanation better be working, or else the entire Harry Potter universe turns a little bit darker.
