Thing Actor Shares 'Wednesday' Season 2 Behind-the-Scenes Clip & It's Tougher Than You Thought

Wednesday season 2 part 1 finally made it to Netflix after almost three years of making us wait like crazy. And it came bearing gifts like new stories for our beloved characters. This time we finally got to see Pugsley being given some power as he is a Spark now, like his uncle Fester; or Grandmama entering the picture and making us realize why Morticia wants to be close to Wednesday.
Another character we were waiting to see again is definitely Thing, the hand that may only seem to have no arc, but in reality being a real character important to the story.
Behind the scenes, Thing is largely the creation of three people: visual effects supervisor Tom Turnbull, director and executive producer Tim Burton, and Romanian-born magician and first-time actor Victor Dorobantu.
When they decided Thing was going to be a big deal, Burton wanted to make CGI use as little as possible, and thanks to careful work and Dorobantu’s dedication, 90% of Thing on screen is real acting.
The actor shares funny behind-the-scenes videos on his Instagram, and lately he posted this video, sort of “spend the day on set with Thing actor.”
Dorobantu shares the important things he has to do before appearing on set, like wearing the special blue costume to later be cut out of scenes, and putting on special make up every time when getting ready for shooting.
Another video he shared made sure we realise how hard his job playing Thing is.
Climbing up walls, falling down, even riding in a cart for a proper angle – it’s just a little part of everything he has to do and what we would have never seen on screen had he not posted these videos.
That’s why the fans in the comments are saying he has the toughest job on set. And thousands of people liking that, proving the point.
Wednesday season 2 volume 2 hits Netflix on September 3.
