MCU fans are looking to see beloved actors return to their iconic roles in the upcoming Marvel Phase 6 finale, Avengers: Secret Wars. Even the characters whose arcs seemed fully complete, like Iron Man and Wolverine, are rumored to get cameos in the sixth Avengers movie.

Well, it is only likely considering the fact that Secret Wars will conclude the Multiverse Saga. The upcoming movie is confirmed to hit the theaters on May 1, 2026. Secret Wars will be based on a 12-issue comic that describes the most powerful Marvel superheroes fighting the most powerful villains, both from multiple universes. It gives the Secret Wars creators loads of possibilities for different cameos, eagerly awaited by MCU fans.

One of the most expected twists is the return of Chris Evans to his iconic Marvel role. And this could be much more than just a cameo.

Many fans believe that turning into an old man can't prevent Captain America from returning to his duties. In the comics, Steve Rogers has lost the Super Soldier Serum and turned into an old man several times. Each time he would find the serum and have his youth back. Besides, in the comics, Rogers did lead the Avengers as an old man once.

Fans also haven't forgotten that Sam Wilson's main villain during his first tenure as Captain America was Steve Rogers himself, altered by the cosmic cube into an agent of Hydra, Captain Hydra. As you see, there are endless opportunities for Chris Evans to return to the Marvel Universe.

However, Captain America is not the only role Chris Evans played in MCU. Many fans remembered The Human Torch. Now, here it gets crazy.

If Evans does come back for Secret Wars, why not have him play both iconic characters? That's the possibility many fan theories explored.

"They should announce Chris is returning super early on, keep him out of all the trailers, and then have his Human Torch show up briefly and get blasted. Make the audience think "really, that's it?", and then have Cap show up in the climax for the inevitable "original 6" lineup that I'm sure they are going to do. The payoff would be SO good," Reddit theory reads.

Seriously, how fun would this be? The idea of Johnny Storm and Steve Rogers interacting and fighting alongside each other or even against each other would make a perfect Easter egg for Secret Wars. "I would CRY in the theaters if that happened, no shame," one commenter wrote. Wouldn't we all?
