Getting caught up in a scandal is a big oopsie, and getting booted from a superhero franchise as a result is no joke.

One thing that is an absolute nightmare for any franchise — a massive scandal involving one of the actors.

A meme posted on Reddit perfectly sums it up: "The recipe for a disaster in a superhero franchise is a time traveler and underwater royalty."

This meme is both hilarious and sad. If you are out of the loop, we are about to recap all these juicy scandals.

Let's start off with "underwater royalty."

What are the odds, right?

First on the list is Amber Heard, who portrayed Mera, the princess of Xebel, in Aquaman ( 2018).

Heard almost destroyed her ex-husband's career with domestic abuse accusations. Eventually, the trial's verdict was in Johnny Depp 's favor.

Fans went all out and started an online petition to kick Heard out of the Aquaman sequel. The petition actually managed to gather 2 million signatures before the trial even began. But Heard is still going to be in the movie.

Next up is the most recent scandal that revolves around Tenoch Huerta, who portrayed Namor in the sequel of Black Panther.

Tenoch Huerta was accused of sexual assault by Mexican musician Maria Elena Rios. He has already responded to the allegations, claiming that they are simply not true.

Namor isn't exactly stealing the show in the MCU, but his character definitely had some perspectives. However, now it's all up in the air whether we'll ever get to see him again.

But the one who really stole the show was Jonathan Majors. Marvel clearly went all-in on him by casting him as the ultimate antagonist of the entire saga — Kang The Conqueror.

In March, Majors was arrested and charged with assault with intent after a domestic dispute. Until his legal trouble is resolved and Majors is proven not guilty, his fate in the MCU is currently unclear.

The king of scandals and the absolute winner of the scandal contest is Ezra Miller.

Unless you've been living under a rock, you've probably heard about the long list of controversies and accusations against Miller, including harassment and grooming.

Despite all of that, Miller is still getting involved in DC projects and was even allowed to promote The Flash.

However, almost a year ago, Miller confirmed that they were suffering complex mental health issues and had begun treatment. Let's hope Miller does get help.
