Tiktok turning Wednesday Addams into Stranger Things' Eddie Munson is a road to nowhere.

Disclaimer: this entire article has been written to the sounds of Lady Gaga 's Bloody Mary.

Don't get us wrong on this one: it's heartwarming and wonderful to realize that millions of people across the world are currently obsessed with one thing and cannot get over it. But it can also ultimately ruin this very thing really fast.

As you might have noticed, TikTok and Instagram reels' video feeds are filled with Wednesday Addams' iconic dance scene and viral challenges to Lady Gaga's Bloody Mary with people doing the same moves in Wednesday-inspired outfits. Even if you haven't watched Netflix 's new eerie hit, it's unlikely you managed to escape the trend.

This Got to Be The Most Unrealistic Thing About Stranger Things

And that's why people are concerned about it in the first place. Stranger Things fans know it better than anyone else, because this is what happened to everyone's overnight favorite Eddie Munson. As soon as everyone fell in love with Joseph Quinn 's quirky outcast, TikTok exploded with videos of people repeating his outfit and his mannerisms. The world's obsession with Eddie quickly turned into a hackneyed viral thing that was annoying rather than enjoyable.

OG Wednesday fans are already calling for the rest of the fandom to "not allow them to Eddiemunsonify Wednesday Addams" — as if they can do something to the almost omnipotent viral urge to play Bloody Mary and put on your best black dress. The concern comes mainly because many people believe that "TikTok ruins everything", and this is not something fans want to happen to Wednesday Addams.

However, there is an opposite opinion on thousands of social media users copying Wednesday's dance and sharing it online, and it is woefully simple: let people have their fun.

"I mean GOD FORBID someone has fun with a character they like. Y'all are zero fun. If you don't like what they post, block them and stop shaming them. Simple as that," Twitter user TardisNerd noted.

After all, as long as we are not tired of Bloody Mary (even though the original dance was to Goo Goo Muck by The Cramps, but who cares now) as we eventually were of Running Up That Hill... let them do that goth dance. With their hands above their head, like Jesus said.
