Tom Sturridge Has the Most Beautiful Theory on The Endless' True Role in ‘The Sandman’

Have you ever wondered what actually unites The Endless in The Sandman? Tom Sturridge's own theory will make you sob. Here's what we know.
As we approach The Sandman's finale, there are a lot of theories floating around. And it's not just fans cooking up ideas. Tom Sturridge (yes, Dream himself) has shared an absolutely fascinating theory about The Endless that might just blow your mind.
Tom Sturridge Thinks the Endless Represent Love in ‘The Sandman'
During a recent Netflix interview, Tom dropped a mind-blowing theory that'll totally make you emotional. He thinks The Endless represents Love.
“I have a theory about the Endless, which is that collectively they represent Love. Because what is Love if not dreaming, despairing, desiring, destiny, delirium, destruction and obviously death. They're only strong together because nothing is as strong as Love,” he stated.
This theory gives ‘The Sandman’ universe a whole new meaning. Love is not always about romantic feelings. And honestly, love does follow us everywhere. Whether it's the feeling you get when a stranger helps you out or the bond with your friends, love is always there. It shapes our desires, our dreams and yeah, even our despair at times.
Fans Are Not Ready to Say Goodbye to ‘The Sandman’
With the second season being the finale, fans are already feeling the bittersweet feeling of saying goodbye to our beloved show. It's hard not to feel sad, especially when The Sandman universe has so many interesting opportunities. Here's what fans had to say.
“This sucks. Sandman is one of the best written graphic novels out there and I loved the adaptation. It doesn’t surprise me that much though,” one Redditor wrote.
“It's a damn shame, because I really enjoyed the first season of this, but... I get it. Neil Gaiman really has made everything he's touched so toxic that there's no way working on a whole new season would have gone down well. Just a shame for the cast and crew, because I really felt like they'd done such a good job with Season One,” another fan, AbsolutelyHorrendous on Reddit pointed out.
When ‘The Sandman’ Volume 2 Comes Out?
The Sandman Volume 2 drops on Netflix on July 24, with a special bonus episode coming to us just a week later on July 31.
