Tom Sturridge's Mom Is in 'The Sandman' Season 2 and It's the Cutest Mother-Son Duo Ever

There was an unexpected family reunion during The Sandman’s season 2 production, but you might have seen Tom Sturridge’s mom in many more prominent TV titles — here’s where.
Whether it’s a mythical story or a superhero tale, everything always goes back to family in Netflix’s The Sandman — sometimes quite literally.
The show’s final second season, which is yet to continue with its second part scheduled for a release on July 24, keeps track of the daily routine that the Endless family’s members have to deal with on a daily basis, with The Sandman’s lead Tom Sturridge and the rest of the cast reprising their respective roles.
There were new faces in the second instalment though, and the actress landing a minor role directly connects to Sturridge in real life. In fact, she is his mother!
Tom Sturridge’s Mom Phoebe Nicholls Plays Taramis in ‘The Sandman’ Season 2
The acting genes run in the Nicholls-Sturridge family, so no wonder The Sandman’s creators didn’t have to waste much time while casting a newcomer for a tiny role in the second season’s episode 2.
Particularly, Nicholls comes as Taramis, the head chef of the Dreaming and waiter for Morpheus and Delirium.
In both Neil Gaiman’s comic book series and TV adaptation, Taramis is a vampire dream/nightmare character with a large head whose appearance became all the way more exciting with Netflix’s announcement of Phoebe Nicholls take on the role.
“I know it was announced a few days ago that Phoebe Nicholls (aka Tom Sturridge's mother) would have a role in this arc. Making her Taramis the chef (and having her be so funny and so sweet to Dream) is INSPIRED”, Redditor -sweet-like-cinnamon raved in a show-related thread.

Where Else Could You See Phoebe Nicholls?
Mostly known for her role of John Merrick’s mother in David Lynch’s 1980 surreal movie The Elephant Man, Nicholls has quite an impressive list of acting credits, especially when it comes to the actress’ TV appearances.
In a British historical drama series Downton Abbey, Nicholls portrayed Robert Crowley’s cousin Susan MacClare, though she was featured in only a couple of episodes.
More recently, she also appeared in minor roles in TV shows like A Very British Scandal and Anatomy of a Scandal, also taking on the role of Anne Anderson in the Benedict Cumberbatch-led psychological thriller show Eric released on Netflix last year.
