The Boys is famous for its violent scenes, but not every one of these moments makes it to the show. One of such scenes was cut from the Amazon show because Toronto residents deemed it way too disrespectful.

It is not a secret that The Boys set in New York is actually being filmed in Canada.

At the moment, the production of Season 5 is in progress and fans are looking forward to the next chapter of the superhero series being released at some date in 2024. Hopefully, the show will be able to keep up with the crazy, pushing-things-too-far dynamic of the first four seasons.

Revolving around superheroes aka Supes, The Boys managed to alter your usual "with great power comes great responsibility" trope and showed the superpowered characters as deeply flawed and corrupt individuals.

These characters are so close to the real world that instead of another superhero movie The Boys looks like a satirical take on modern society for which fans just adore the show.

Another reason The Boys has a huge fanbase is the graphic scenes of violence and crimes committed by Supes. Such scenes are what differentiates the show from its polished competitors.

Modern viewers just love a good old depiction of violence. For example, in Season 4, according to many fans, the most memorable episode was Herogasm featuring the superhero orgy being interrupted by a bloodbath.

However, not all of these scenes make it to the show. The filming of one violent scene for Season 3 was canceled due to Toronto residents' outrage.

The scene was supposed to feature about 450 people and was reportedly about one of the Supes attacking a crowd with plenty of screaming, running, panic, blood, and death involved.

However, it was not the content of the scene but the place where it was supposed to be filmed that made the residents of the area uncomfortable.

The scene was scheduled to be filmed in Mel Lastman Square which brought back some traumatizing memories.

On April 23, 2018, 11 pedestrians were killed and 15 critically injured by a van driven by a domestic terrorist. This horrible tragedy happened exactly where The Boys scene was supposed to be filmed.

Toronto Councillor John Filion who stepped in and made sure the scene was canceled, told Toronto Sun there were people who were "still traumatized" by the attack, and it was "disrespectful" to make people relive those events.
