Justified, even ten years after its finale, is not a thing of the past, and the actor has been honest about what he thinks about a potential new season.

It's time to admit it – we all love Walton Goggins. I'm glad the actor has finally achieved overwhelming popularity thanks to the third season of The White Lotus, but his biggest TV victory came 15 years ago.

In the neo-western Justified, about an old-fashioned Kentucky marshal who keeps his conscience in a corrupt job, Goggins played the antagonist, Boyd Crowder.

Justified Is Still Walton Goggins' Most Impressive TV Work

His brilliant performance was noticed by TV critics, who praised Goggins' acting talent year after year. In 2011, the Emmy committee recognized the actor with a nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Justified ended in 2015, but the show still has a loyal fan base, especially since the spin-off Justified: City Primeval was released in 2023, where the actor returned in a small cameo.

Walton Goggins Doubts Justified Will Ever Get a Season 7

Not surprisingly, the actor is still being asked if there's a chance he'll return to his role in the main series. In an interview with Vulture, Walton Goggins admitted that he doubts that Justified will get a new season:

“I would be surprised if that happens. I really believe we've said everything we need to say, but I never say never to anything in life. [...] I don't know the answer to that question, but that would probably have to be down the road, and we'd be too old to do it anyway.”

And this statement is rather bittersweet for all Boyd Crowder fans.

Justified Received Too Good a Finale to Spoil It With Another Season

Walton Goggins created such a charming and unique villain who stole the show in every scene that the creators of Justified decided not to kill Boyd off in the first episode. Such charismatic villains come along once in a decade, and fans always wait for their return.

On the other hand, Justified got a brilliant finale. Reddit user MickeySpooney wrote:

“The issue with Justified is that they finished the first run so perfectly. The run up to the finale, the finale itself, the final interaction with Raylan and Boyd. All brilliant. Why would they want to undo that?”

The final sixth season may not have been the pinnacle of storytelling, but the ending was compelling and impressive.

The final shot leaves you with a sense of real peace as Givens deceives Boyd and tells him that Ava is long gone, then smiles that signature Timothy Olyphant smile that has kept viewers glued to their screens for six long years.

So probably Justified would be better off sticking to six seasons – if we want to see Boyd Crowder again, we'll just have to revisit the show.
