While fans found out about Westworld's cancellation on the internet, one of the actors received the news in a much worse way.

Luke Hemsworth, one of the three Hemsworth actor brothers, may have received one of the worst birthday presents possible. And it came from none other than HBO.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor recalled how HBO representatives ruined his birthday party when they told him Westworld had been cancelled.

"I was like ****, damn it," Hemsworth exclaimed, showing just how upset he was by the party poopers' announcement.

Hemsworth opened up about his birthday surprise at the premiere of his younger brother's TV series Limitless. Chris Hemsworth, also known as Thor, performed blood-curdling stunts on the National Geographic show, where he also learned he has Alzheimer's.

The actor, who played the role of Ashley Stubbs, head of security for the Westworld parks, said people usually hope these things will go on forever, but "everyone's got their reasons". He thanked HBO for giving him the opportunity to star in the award-winning show and said Westworld had been "a big part of my life". Luke Hemsworth was very sorry to see the show come to an end.

HBO's Westworld, which got off to a great start in 2016, was cancelled after its most recent season four received poor ratings. For those who remained loyal to the series, the decision not to renew the show was disappointing. Hemsworth urged Westworld fans not to get stuck, but to move on.

"Unfortunately, we get cut off, but it's the nature of the world," the Ashley Stubbs actor said, adding that it's important to put the negative moments aside and embrace what's new.

The Hemsworth trio is quite popular in the film industry. While Chris is testing his physics in the Limitless series, the youngest of the brothers, Liam, is preparing to impress The Witcher fans with his acting. And it could be a challenge for him, as he will be inheriting the role of Geralt of Rivia from Henry Cavill, who is universally recognised as the perfect Geralt.

If you ever wondered if the brothers compete with each other, Luke has admitted quite openly that they have a healthy rivalry and sometimes he feels pressure because Chris and Liam have set high standards. There's also the issue of being different. All three brothers can't be the same and the actor kept asking himself one question all the time – "How do I find what's unique about me?"
