While You Were Sleeping, Netflix's Most Underrated Action Thriller Delivered Its Best Season Yet
It's the perfect time to tune in.
Netflix has released the third season of The Night Agent, arguably the platform's most underrated action series.
Created by Shawn Ryan, the series tells the story of FBI agent Peter Sutherland and is a perfect example of the genre, featuring breathtaking chases, intricate conspiracies, and unexpected humanity.
The new season corrects the mistakes of the previous one, returns to its roots, and presents viewers with several powerful storylines.
What Is 'The Night Agent' Season 3 About?

The plot begins in Istanbul, where Peter is tracking Jay Batra, a financial analyst suspected of murdering his boss and engaging in suspicious banking transactions.
Everyone is hunting Batra, including Night Action, the mysterious broker Jacob Monroe, and Isabel De Leon, a journalist whose boss died under strange circumstances.
The investigation leads De Leon straight to the White House, where she meets Chelsea Arrington. Behind the presidential family's perfect facade lies something directly connected to the conspiracy.
The new president assigns his army friend, Adam Corrigan, to Peter – but can he be trusted?
Season 3 Corrects the Mistakes of the Second Season & Builds on the Strengths of the First

The third season of The Night Agent returns to its roots but complicates its structure rather than repeating itself. The plot centers on the topic of fathers and sons, which permeates every storyline and is not simply limited to secret schemes.
Peter, still reeling from his father's betrayal and his mother's early death, meets Jacob Monroe, a sentimental scoundrel who pines for his murdered lover.
The most touching story of the season is that of a nameless killer and his adopted son, a boy who reads Homer and is unaware of his father's profession.
When Peter and the boy's paths cross in the finale, an incredibly powerful scene unfolds: the adult orphan, having miraculously survived, offers the boy parting words about his father.
Given what we know about Sutherland, his ability to find kind words for the son of a killer seems truly superheroic.
'The Night Agent' Is the Closest We'll Get to 'Mission: Impossible' on TV – And That's Certainly a Compliment
In an era of complex and ambiguous protagonists flooding our screens, Peter Sutherland seems to be a throwback to the days when action heroes simply protected the weak. Gabriel Basso, who plays the lead, exudes Hollywood star charisma similar to that of Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt.
His character, Peter, is just as resourceful and loyal to his partners, and he is also willing to run, fight, and shoot for the truth. Season 3 introduces several sidekicks, which eases his tasks while simultaneously enriching the story.
The Night Agent remains one of Netflix's most compelling action series, and rumors of a fourth season are the biggest news of the day.
