The mystery of Lester’s death is now officially solved in Only Murders in the Building now that the fifth season has wrapped, but one more crime case emerged just as quickly, sending the trio to a different location in the next instalment.

There, Charles, Oliver and Mabel will have to deal with someone responsible for the murder of Cinda Canning who collapsed near the Arconia building in the season 5 finale.

To some, the character portrayed by Tina Fey seemed like a completely new face in Hulu’s hit mystery drama series, though you’ll definitely see Cinda in more occasions once you revisit Only Murders in the Building’s previous seasons.

Who Is Cinda Canning in ‘Only Murders in the Building’?

Introduced in the show’s first season released back in 2021, Tina Fey’s Cinda Canning is the host of a true crime podcast titled “All Is Not OK in Oklahoma”, which, as the series repeatedly hinted, had a little secret to keep from everyone else.

The character becomes a major figure in Only Murders in the Building’s season 2 when the leading trio, alongside Cinda herself, investigates the murder of Becky Butler; it is eventually revealed that Becky is in fact none other than Cinda’s assistant Poppy while the host herself is a criminal mastermind that creates crime cases for her own podcast.

Apart from that all, Cinda is Charles, Oliver and Mabel’s primary rival who seeks ways to outsmart the trio in solving crime cases and talking about them on her podcast before “Only Murders in the Building” does the same.

The trio, however, closely follows everything Cinda does as they’re seen listening to her new podcast “The Girl with the Curls” in season 5 finale, seconds before Cinda dies at Arconia’s footstep.

‘Only Murders in the Building’ Is Officially Flying to London in Season 6

Even though rumours about the show changing its location have been spreading before the season’s finale premiered Tuesday night, they actually turned out to be true, later confirmed by both the fifth instalment’s ending and the streaming service.

In the episode, it’s revealed that, before dying, Cinda was investigating the murder of a royal descendant in London and was trying to figure out whether the primary suspect was in fact guilty or not.

It’s not clear why she heads to Arconia in the first place, but the case that now belongs to the show’s leading trio will move them to the British capital for some time.

The news was confirmed by major outlets like Variety several hours after the latest season’s finale aired.

Only Murders in the Building’s season 6 is now expected to arrive on Hulu sometime in the fall of 2026.
