One of the most viral criminal drama series of the year, MobLand has many prominent names in its leading cast, with one of the actresses getting ready to get a major role in HBO’s Harry Potter series.
Even though it might take a while for MobLand to come back to the screens, it’s fair to say the show will see most of its faces returning in a second season which is yet to be confirmed by the creators.
Apart from Tom Hardy’s Harry Da Souza whose fate remains unknown, MobLand’s potential season 2 will likely also bring Janet McTeer’s Kat McAllister back, proving that she’s not done with gangs in the criminal underworld just yet.
However, there’s another reason why you could see McTeer on the news recently, and it has nothing to do with MobLand.

In MobLand, Kat McAllister is an international cartel operative and generally powerful figure of the London criminal world introduced in the first season’s episode 7.
As an international cartel boss, Kat is able to have a heavy influence on other people’s decisions, which is proved by her willingness to stop Seraphina’s execution just with a couple of phone calls.

It’s not yet revealed who exactly Kat is, though it’s clear that she might be a very important politician or a member of a criminal crime organisation.
Her role, however, will definitely get an expansion in MobLand’s season 2 which will likely address Harry’s promise to owe Kat a favor for saving Seraphina.
Whether this would benefit Harry or rather bring him even more trouble, is yet to be seen in the show’s future episodes.
Janet McTeer Will Soon Become One of Hogwarts Professors in HBO’s ‘Harry Potter’
Taking a break from all the dangers that the criminal underworld might signal her character, McTeer will soon take on the role of Minerva McGonagall in HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series, with the first season’s production scheduled to start sometime this summer.
The future show has already promised to become a more faithful adaptation of JK Rowling’s book series, dedicating an entire season to a specific novel.
The first instalment is expected to be released sometime in 2026.

The show is yet to be renewed for another season, though its second instalment might arrive on streaming sometime next year or later.
