After a wave of outrage triggered by Daredevil's light-hearted appearance in She-Hulk, Matt Murdock fans might finally get what they crave.

Not only is Daredevil making an entrance into the MCU but he might do it with an R-rated sticker, according to recent reports.

The rumors are shared by insider Daniel Richtman (DanielRPK). According to him, it is "likely" that Daredevil: Born Again will receive a TV-MA rating, meaning that it might be designated for mature audience.

When asked about the possibility for Echo, Blade, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, or Thunderbolts receiving the same rating, the insider said no.

If true, a mature rating would bring great joy to Daredevil fans, who have long demanded that the Matt Murdock series be darker and grittier than the rest of the MCU. The first appearance of Charlie Cox 's character in the MCU happened in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and while fans were excited for him to finally be introduced in the cinematic universe, they still wish for him to get darker.

That would be impossible with PG-13, but should the R-rating rumors turn out to be true, it is possible that more violence and mature stuff makes its way into the upcoming series.

Fans welcomed the reports, wondering what made Disney to finally listen to the public opinion. Even those who believe that Daredevil does not need an R rating to be great have praised the possibility of the show getting one.

Matt Murdock stans have been clear that they "don't want Saturday morning cartoon Daredevil", and now that the studio might finally listen, some people hope "we'd get an R rated Daredevil movie someday."

Even Charlie Cox himself said that Daredevil "has to be more mature", while not ruling out that a more light-hearted version of the show might also work.

"I think that the age of the character, the Christian guilt, his history with women and stuff, it's like it's a little bit more mature, it has to be," Cox told Comic Book.

Daredevil: Born Again is set to hit Disney Plus in 2024.
